Hairdressers, salons and shops for Black hair/ African hair are not easy to find, many are not listed nor can be found online. Besides salons, there are many hairdressers that work from home or will visit you.  The market for Black hair products and services is huge and this directory bring customers and businesses together.

The directory was launched in 2006, initially for the UK only.I had the idea  for this directory after my (Zambian) wife kept having difficulities finding a hairdresser who could do her hair , every time we moved to a new town or city in the UK. Similarly, finding a shop where she could buy Dark 'n Lovely or hairpieces, was a  problem. Soon, salons and shops in Euroipe and the US were added. There are now hundreds of salons and hairdressers on the African Hair Directory. More businesses add their details weekly and visitor numbers to the website keeps growing.

Anyone who provides a hairdressing service can submit their details and I will list them in the directory. Go to the "submit page" to see the information we need in order to list your business.
